Hightail - Secure File Sharing App Reviews

I received a Hightail link from a client via email. When I click the link, it takes me to Safari. The file is a QuickTime and will not properly stream on iOS in the browser. When I click "open in app" it brings me to the App Store instead of the Hightail app. This happens every time even though I already have the app downloaded and open. So basically this app does 0% of what I need it to do.

Before placing expectations on this app, please visit the Hightail website and READ what they are about. Too many folks here just dont get this great service, and their complaints belie their ignorance. I have used this service from the early days of YouSendIt. I can upload my clients music from my recording studio and using the download link provided, they can download the files (and even share the link with their friends) for a time period and number of downloads I specify. I primarily use one of my studios PCs for the upload, then use the app to manage the files remotely. And it just keeps getting better. Highly recommended.

Doesnt show a single one of my photos, and shows my account settings as the basic settings as opposed to the paid plan.

I used to love this app- for the last 6 months when I get a link from an email it opens in Safari iOS, then when I click open in app it takes me to App Store even though I already have Hightail downloaded. Useless.

App doesnt show recent sent files! I send files daily from my computer and when I open the app to forward them from my phone to another party they dont exist. Maybe Im Not sure how to find current files that I just sent from the app on my phone but the support link doesnt even work.

I dont know why Hightail has abandoned their flagship app in favor of their new, ridiculously complicated and buggy app (called Spaces) but I wish theyd just keep improving this app instead. Hightail is simple to use, easy to understand and fast AF. I often send self-taped auditions to my agent and manager and the files need to be sent quickly, securely and in high quality. Hightail lets me do this with ease. Spaces is a confusing mess. Dont download it. I hope Hightail starts updating this app again because its pretty great.

They sent me a video with this Hightail crap. The link wouldnt open on my phone and the app didnt work. From now on will only use creatives that support modern (aka working) technology like Dropbox.

This is the worst program I have ever used. Its not at all user friendly even for the tech savvy. I thought it was me, but When I ran out of patience I sent the Hot Dish attachment I was emailed directly to my ad rep and even the ad company had problems. I was told that the download almost crashed their computer too and caused a great deal of frustration. And they share files all the time.

Received videos in email. Directed to app to download into my phone . Did that. When I went to save in app, it told me I wasnt authorized to do that with my sign on. Stupid.

Awful. Wont let me download a file I was sent, nor will it upload it to the app when I ask it to do so. Doesnt give me an option to upload from my email, only asks if in my files on my phone. The document isnt password protected so shouldnt be any hold ups. Very frustrated!

Cannot use for pics

Great app. Nice to have in the field when I need to send large sized content to business partners.

While this app has its limitations, it is quite functional and convenient. I use it for sharing audio files of music that my choir is learning.

Its super easy to browse my content and send files to people. LOVE IT!

Use Dropbox. Hightail ruined YouSendIt that was a great service.

Downloaded this app to listen to a file sent by a client. It continues to tell me I am not allowed to access. Deleting this immediately! Useless for business. The one star is because it wouldnt accept no stars.

Where are the download links?

Forced to download otherwise I cant get my overpriced school picture. After download, it is not user friendly and the interface is hard to navigate. At this point, I cant get my pictures to my other folder in my phone. Notice this is my first App review "ever" but I have to write this. Avoid at all cost !! If I have no or negative star as a choice, I will pick that.

Functionally works better than Dropbox, but is too expensive per month
